Day 1

  • Highlight: Arrival, Kigali Genocide Memorial, City Tour, Caplaki Crafts Market, Drive to Volcanoes NP
  • Itinerary:

    Arrive morning/lunchtime at Kigali International Airport and be met by your Driver Guide for a brief of your Rwanda visits. The Kigali city tours especially welcome you to this "Land of a Thousand Hills". You will start with the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre and thereafter proceed on to the City Centre for a quick lunch. Visit the Caplaki Crafts market and after here start your 2-hr drive to Volcanoes NP.

Day 2

  • Highlight: Gorilla Tracking, Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village
  • Itinerary:

    Early breakfast and proceed to the National Park headquarters for a Gorilla tracking experience in the Volcanoes National Park. Once you spot them you are allowed to spend an hour watching. This is perhaps one of the most breathtaking wildlife experiences on earth!!! You get so close to these awesome giant primates. Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga is a magical experience. You can request for a group of the family desired as per time taken to trek, if possible. After Gorilla tracking return to your Lodge for lunch and afternoon at leisure around the lodge or find enough time to admire your photos on the Gorilla tracking activities or visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village and mingle with the local community in the cultural activities and traditional Rwandan dances. And thereafter dinner and overnight either at;

Day 3

  • Highlight: Golden Monkey Trek, Drive to Lake Kivu, Boat Ride
  • Itinerary:

    Another early breakfast at the lodge and return to Volcanoes NP, this time for the Golden Monkeys trek.
    Entering dense stands of bamboo interspersed with open glades; you will make your way deep into golden monkey territory. Guides lead visitors to the habitat of groups of ‘habituated’ golden monkeys – monkeys used to human presence. Though viewing is kept to a maximum of one hour, travellers can get an up-close look at the golden monkey in its natural habitat. Back to the lodge for an early lunch
    and thereafter check out for a drive to Lake Kivu, in the NE of Rwanda. Check in at your hotel and in the afternoon enjoy a 1-HR boat ride on the Lake. Visit popular spots like close Islands, hot springs and fishing spots where you will meet and interact with fishermen. Thereafter back to the Hotel
    for the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at either;

Day 4

  • Highlight: Gisenyi City Tour, Drive to Kigali, Departure
  • Itinerary:

    Breakfast and check out of the Hotel. Enjoy a Gisenyi City tour, to the border points of Petite and Grand Barrier. From here you will be able to gain sights of the Congo DRC’s Goma town…compare it with Rwanda’s Gisenyi town and learn more….. Pass through the main streets and the markets as you drive out back to Kigali City. Lunch and thereafter proceed on to Kigali Airport for your departure flight.
